Knitting wire (English name: card wire) is a kind of middle and high carbon steel wire used for knitting fiber (cotton, wool, hemp, silk, chemical fiber) in textile industry. The production process
In the production of special-shaped steel wire, the wire rod is first drawn into a round wire blank, and then pulled into the required section shape by the method of roller drawing (see roller die drawing) in the finished passage. The choice of quenching medium should not only ensure that the steel wire can be quenched thoroughly, but also be conducive to galvanizing and avoiding brittle fracture during continuous operation. Polyvinyl alcohol with a concentration of 0.5% ~ 2% and a temperature of 52ºC is generally used as quenching medium. The tempering temperature should be uniform and sufficient time should be allowed.
